1965 Ford Galaxie 500 5.8L 352 V8 long block engine rebuild.
This Ford 352 beast of a motor came into our Los Angeles machine shop for some needed TLC work.
On the agenda: Hot tank, Thorough inspection, Bore and Hone the block, Valve Job, Grind Crank and Cam, Engine Rebuild Kit, Clean, Paint and Assemble. Any broken or missing parts are replaced.
Check out the progress shots.
After the bore and hone, we send it to another hot tank, then it’s ready for a protective coat of paint to seal out any debris. Later we add the color coat.

Ford 352 Valve Job
Cylinder heads received a Valve Job to breathe new life into them. What did we do?
First we hot tanked them and inspected them, magnufluxed checking for cracks. None found. We checked all the valves, looking to see if any need to be replaced. No bends, so off to the grind machine. No dropped seats, we cut 3 angle seats, and lapped the valves. Installed new guides and valve stem seals. We resurfaced them and put on a coat of paint. They’re ready for assembly.
After the hot tank, we Bored the cylinders on the block. Nice cross hatch!
Honed the cylinders to a nice finish, then another hot tank and coat of paint.
Now we’re ready to start building the Short Block.
Meanwhile, the Crankshaft and Cam were reground and prepped for install.
We also decided to make the block a darker blue, so it got another coat of paint.

I am interested in buying a remanufactured 352 for my 1965 F100. I’m not sure if the original in the truck is rebuild able, water is getting in the oil.

Great info on the 352. I have a 352 that came in my 1961 Century Coronado Boat, I have had the block magna fluxed, bored 30 over, heads restored to burn unleaded gas, it does have solid lifters, crank shop said they only had to polish the crank, have not found anyone yet to restore the came, not sure if I should just put a new one in it, I would like your input on that, and what would your price be on rebuild kit, pistons, gaskets everything you did to the one on your site The valve covers on the motor said ” Interceptor by Century” thanks for any info!

Greetings,
I finally found a decent 1965 Galaxie four-door which originally had a 352. That blew up at the High School Vo-Ag shop with the original owner. A 289 crate motor was installed. Haven’t had it long enough to identify the 3-spd transmission.
Do you have a 352 long block that I could purchase? Not looking for a fire-breather. May tow a small travel trailer (3000 lbs).
Thank you,
Brian Rees

I have a 65 galaxie ( very Nice ) but would like to get more power out of the 352 – runs ok with no issues. What would upgraded 352 cost ? Would consider a rebuilt performance motor?
