Another Classic, a 1961 Ford Mercury Comet S-22 170 Straight-6 came in for an engine rebuild.  This was a remove and install, so I was able to get a few pics of the entire car.  A nice 2 door coupe.

We pulled the engine and threw it in the hot tank.  Time to start the rebuild.

Bore and Hone the block
Valve Job on the cylinder head
Grind Crank and Cam
Engine Rebuild Kit – New pistons, rings, bearings, gasket set, oil pump, and timing set
Clean, Paint and assemble

Valve Job

Valve job on the Straight 6 Mercury Comet cylinder head.  Basic Valve Job includes: Grind valves, cut seats, resurface, clean, paint and assemble.  We also installed new brass guides and valve stem seals.
We also did a vacuum test, a pressure test, and checked for cracks.

This head was in good condition. Additional services available if needed; Install new valve seats and crack repair.

Parts from the Ford Mercury Comet 170 Rebuild Kit, New engine bearings, pistons, rings, timing set waiting to be installed.  Connecting rods and caps prepped for assembly.

I missed out on the assembly pictures, but I did get the engine installed in the Comet.
