Ford 302 5.0 Engine Rebuild.
1989 Mustang 302 5.0 engine rebuild and install is on the project list this week.
They were pretty quick with the teardown and I was MIA, so I barely got any pics.
It was a stock rebuild, 5.0 302 OHV 16V V8.
Rebuild Plan: Teardown, Inspection, Hot tank and scrub, look for damage or cracks.
Machine Service: Bore and Hone engine block, Grind and Polish Crank and Cam, Valve Job on the heads.
Engine Rebuild Kit with New pistons, rings, engine bearings, full gaskets, freeze plugs, oil pump and timing set.
Check out these crispy looking cylinder heads. I think we hot tanked these twice.
The heads were cleaned and dis-assembled. Valve job included: Resurface, Grind valves, cut 3-angle valve seats, inserted new guides, valve stem seals and put them back together. I got one shot of them all cleaned up.
We bore and honed the block. Decked the surface, and slapped on a coat of paint. We cleaned up the connecting rods, hung the pistons and installed the new bearings.
