Cadillac 500 8.2 Engine Rebuild.

The Cadillac Eldorado 500 8.2 V8 was introduced in 1970, it was the largest production V8 at the time.

I snapped a few pics of this black beauty when it rolled into the shop. That hood is really long!

This time it’s a rebuild with installation. We don’t do too many because we’re busy rebuilding all the time. I like it when the classics come in. They have meat on the bone.

Complete Rebuild includes: Bore and Hone engine block, Grind & Polish Crank and Cam, and Valve Job on the heads.
Engine Rebuild Kit with New pistons, rings, gaskets, engine bearings, freeze plugs, oil pump and timing set.
Clean, paint, and assemble.

After we plucked it out, it went to the dismantle station for teardown and inspection. It’s a beast of an engine. Next stop, the Hot Tank!!

Once we scrub it up, we can get to work rebuilding it. We’ve already ordered the new parts and we are ready to rock and roll.

Cadillac Block and Head work

Hone 1970 Cadillac Eldorado engine block

Engine block bored and honed, we decked the block and slapped on a little paint. The cylinder heads resurfaced, new guides installed, valves were ground, 3 angle seats, and we replaced any broken parts.

These shots are the short block assembly being rebuilt. Crankshaft was ground, we put in new pistons, rings, and engine bearings. Getting ready to hang the pistons on the rods. To finish it up, new oil pump, water pump, and timing kit. Engine parts available for your next rebuild project, contact us.
