Rebuilt Remanufactured GM 235 Engine
We love getting in the older model car engines to work on at the shop. This 1953 Chevy GM 235 6 cylinder truck engine came in for a complete rebuild recently. We tore it apart, inspected it for damage, and hot tank cleaned it.
Now we could work on the components.
Block work- Bore and hone
Grind the crank and cam.
Head work- Valve job (resurface, grind valves, cut 3-angle valve seats, clean and assemble).
Engine parts- New Pistons, rings, bearings, timing set, freeze plugs, gasket set, and oil pump.
I didn’t take pictures of the whole process, but did capture these “After” shots.
I think it looks pretty damn cool. This is a tall boy
They don’t make them like this anymore. This type was manufactured from 1953 to 1963, then Chevrolet changed.
Here it is rebuilt and assembled with timing cover, pushrod cover, valve cover, and breather element. Looking polished and ready to install.
Working on these older model Chevy’s is refreshing, they don’t come in too often. It’s nice to see a classic.
